The Search

Faith,

an abstract concept that lives in my mind.

what does it mean?

how does it becomes evident in life?

how it impacts the individual, the world even?

how it varies from person to person?

What is faith, an emotion or a relationship,

an abstract concept that no one will fully grasp?

I don't know much,

but I do know that somedays it is easier to have faith than other days.

Faith like humans, matures and grows, and sometimes it disappears.

Faith, unlike any other relationship or emotion,

faith has the potential to be the death of you.

Like anything in this fleeting world,

if you hold on too tightly

it’ll slip through your finger tips

Leaving you in a dark world with no light,

no way out.

Everyone is searching for something, someone dependable enough to place their faith

Something. Someone.

Coming to save you from pain and suffering

to rescue us from the cruel world we live in.

It is tested.

It is pushed to its limits,

In that moment you have the choice:

let go or fight.

That moment is the explosion that starts the fire;

a the fire that will either cleanse you or burn you alive.

Faith is a living and breathing organism

built to support us against the unknown.

human nature yearns for a saving faith,

a soldier in the battle of life.

The opponent is one that plagues this world with trauma,

sickness,

depression,

anger,

and everything else that destroys the world

and everyone living in it one day at a time,

one that wants you to fall into that pain and suffering, one that scares you fucking bad you fall a victim to it anyway.

But faith, faith is response to that unshakable fear.

Fear of the unknown pain

the kind that strikes at random.

We all fall victim to cruel fates that are awaiting,

some worse than others,

some short trials,

some life long battles.

Ironically, it is those who have hurt the most

that have the strongest faith;

those who have overcome the impossible,

those who faced a world of hurt

yet manage to get out of bed with a smile

and a true joy in their hearts.

Faith has a way of weaving its way into

every part of life

because in we all face those trials everyday. Somedays there has to be a reason we get out of bed, something that gives us a reason to keep going.

We have faith that the sun will rise and set each day, that the clock will change,

that the world will keep spinning on an axis that makes no sense.

Some have faith in themselves, the future, friendship science, religion, family, or even humanity as a whole.

Faith is the sole reason that the world still turns,

why the world is buzzing with those accomplishing milestones,

why society continues to innovate.

Faith motivates us to do more, despite the fear of failure or pain.

I have faith my mother will always be there;

I have faith that I have been forgiven;

I have faith the pain will pass;

I have faith I have been loved truly and purely;

I have faith that the plans of my future have been shaped for my good;

Faith is the hope that things will get better.
